Albert Bel Goos Jr.

        Albert Bel Goos Jr., 82, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, in his sister’s residence.
        Mr. Goos was born in Hecker. He was a graduate of Iowa High School and finished three years of education at LSU. He served the Army as a captain during World War II, and he served with the Special Services during the Korean War. He retired as the coordinator of transportation with Cities Service after 33 years. Mr. Goos was a direct descendant of Captain Daniel Goos, one of Lake Charles’ pioneer families.
        He is survived by one sister, Margaret Watson and husband James C. of Lake Charles; one nephew, Dennis Lee Erbelding of Houston; three nieces, Janine Watson of San Francisco, Kay Watson Dering of Lake Charles and Suzanne Watson Conway of Houston; and four great-nephews, James Troy Dering and Jeremy Paul Dering, both of Lake Charles, and Philip Douglas Conway and Matthew Paul Conway, both of Houston.
        He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elsie Goos, and one sister, Marie Erbelding.
        Private services were handled by Johnson Funeral Home. The body will be cremated.
